In the heart of Charlotte, Alirio “Al” Lizarazo, a visionary in the cycling community, shaped the city's bike market after arriving from Colombia in 1962. His journey led to the genesis of The Bike Gallery in 1974, nestled in Dilworth, a neighborhood steeped in Charlotte's history.
Al's dedication extended beyond his shop, engaging in solitary rides before dawn and advocating for cycling in Charlotte. His sons, Roland and Andres, continued his legacy, transforming The Bike Gallery into a community hub.
Now, into its third generation with Al’s grandson Christian, we honor fifty years of achievements. Let's celebrate not just the passage of time, but the visionary spirit that has made cycling integral to our community. We look forward to another 50 years of serving Charlotte, fueled by your valued support.
Our stories are the greatest legacy we will leave to our friends…
